Our last full day on our cruise. We are in the Netherlands as you can see. The stop is Kinderdijk, the home of 20 working windmills most from the mid to late 1700’s. We were able to visit one of the windmills furnished as in the early 1900’s.

Our tour today was in the afternoon from 2-5. This morning we sailed up the Rhine from Cologne. See below.

Unfortunately we will have only airport time in Amsterdam. After every trip you always need an excuse to return. We will leave the ship at 4:30 AM tomorrow July 9th for our flight to Atlanta. If all goes well we will be back in Charlotte on the same day!
This has been a wonderful trip! We have met a lot of wonderful people. The ship’s crew spoiled us. I can recommend river cruising to anyone who would like to visit Europe. Several members of our cruise will be staying over in Amsterdam and some will travel to other locations in Europe. England is only 35 miles away at Dover from Europe.

Seems like a person could almost swim to England from Amsterdam. Really brings to mind how close the countries are and how they can be overtaken by a power like Russia. Can newly understand nervousness of Germajy, Austria, and Hungary over Ukrane.

As we approached Netherlands many barges and freighters along banks. Big shipping area.
