Dear friends and family,

This is my second experience writing a blog.  Since retiring in 2017, I’ve only taken one out of country trip with my grandson, Tyler, which I recorded on Facebook.  However, many of my friends have decided to abandon Facebook so now I will write short news feeds on FB with photos, but use this site for more in depth information and photos. I think I will use the idea of writing a letter to my friends, former students, and family including my three grandchildren.

This trip will begin tonight with a train ride to Manhattan arriving sometime tomorrow.  I will be staying at the Appalachian State University Loft in Midtown until Sunday evening when I fly to Istanbul then Cairo. I have scheduled to see 5  Broadway plays and to visit the Brooklyn Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I’ll post my reviews and send photos from the museums.
