Egypt here we come!

Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from the Frankfurt, Germany airport.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES!

Monday morning found us packed and ready for our journey to JFK. We went to the corner of 24th and Park Avenue and in 3 minutes had a taxi stop to take us to Terminal 1 and our Milligan friends.

“Where are you traveling to?” Asked our driver. To Egypt we said. “But I’m from Egypt!” So for our ride across Brooklyn and Queens we got the life story of William our taxi driver. He came to the USA at age 28 after serving in the Egyptian military as a chemical engineer. At age 70 in retirement he is driving Linda and Ellen to the airport giving us places to see and even showing his photos of Luxor from his last trip. His wife called on the way and he was so excited to tell her that we were going to Egypt. She asked us to stop by their house and pick her up so she could go with us.

We were ahead of time at the airport (4+ hours) so check-in and security were easy. Ellen even qualified for pre-check and did not have to remove here shoes.

Our 8 hour flight brought us to Germany at our USA bedtime but it was 6:00 am here. One hour nap will have to do until tonight.

Our plane after landing in Germany.

Sunrise was beautiful and we will board for our 4 hour flight to Cairo at 1:00 pm.

Sunrise in Germany, 2/28/23

We will be in Egypt soon so stay tuned for more posts. Thanks for traveling with us.
