Sunday in Manhattan

February 26, 2023. Writing from 37,000 over the Atlantic.

The lights in the plane are all tuned off. My internal clock is set at 7:30 We are supposed to be sleeping as we will arrive in Germany in a little over 3 hours, early morning there but bedtime for Ellen.

Before the lights went out.

Time to write about our Sunday in Manhattan. I always love being in NY of Sundays as I can join my Christian friends at Manhattan Church of Christ. An easy bus ride from the Loft to Madison and 80th street. Seeing friends and joining in the worship service was a great way to end my time in the city.

Tea snd coffee to keep warm

After church, Linda and I had lunch at a local cafe…under a tent on the sidewalk with heaters. It was 32 degrees outside but inside was warm and the food was delicious,

Then on to our second day at the in the Egyptian section of the Met. This Sunday the Met offered a 1 hour tour with an excellent docent of Egyptian Art. We learned so much as she covered the meaning of the art that we will see on the walls of tombs and temples when we get to Egypt. We stayed until closing and then back to repack for our trip. It will be around 30 when we leave and 70+ when we arrive on Tuesday in Cairo.
