Egypt was the breadbasket of the ancient world. It provided food for the Biblical Patriarchs when famine threatened. It provided a safe place for Joseph from his brothers then helped the 70 members of his family during the famine that could have wiped them out.

The Hebrews prospered the land of Goshen for 430 years and became a people so large that their number frightened the Egyptians who tried to stop their growth. Numbers gives the number of fighting men at 600,000. God was able to feed them in a desert and bring them to the gates of Canaan before they rejected the promise land and wandered for the next 40 years until only Caleb and Joshua were left of the original men of first census in Numbers.
So what did we see that Abraham saw? He would have been in Memphis to see Pharaoh and would have seen the more than 100 pyramids at Giza along with the Sphinx. They were part of the experience of Jospeh, Jacob and Moses too!

Today we can see the Ancient wonders of Giza too. Each pyramid would have been covered with blocks of granite that would make the pyramid smooth. These granite slabs are at the base of the Pyramid of Khafre the son of Khufu Builder of the Great Pyramid.
The first pyramid was build in Saqqara by Djoser (2630-2611 BC) . If Abraham traveled the few miles south of Memphis, this too would have been part of his visit as it was of ours.

This connection between the Egypt of the Bible and the ancient sites of Egypt today are amazing.
FYI: Egypt or Egyptians are mentioned over 700 times in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
