Dear family & friends,
Our cruise schedule on the Aegean Sea included a visit to three of the more than 200 inhabited islands. One of my favorites was Santorini.

Santorini has very limited land at sea level where the ship anchored. The harbor side of the island has mainly gift shops and restaurants. To see the main attractions required an optional tour. Limited spaces on the ship’s tours found us doing our own excursion!

Our excursion of Santorini required planning. First the standard boat ride from the ship, then a 6 Euro cable car up to the top of the island (better than the 600 steps), and finally a 20 Euro taxi across the island which gave us access to visit their beautiful churches just like the excursions. (Also we each saved 50 Euros)

Waiting for our boat ride to return to the ship, we witnessed a beautiful sunset in the west while the moon rose over the island in the east. A wonderful way to end the evening!

More on the other destinations coming soon.
